THE STORY OF OUR FLOATING SUNGLASSES:
IN 2015 WE MADE BETTER SUNGLASSES
We were tired of losing our sunglasses in the water and didn't want to be constrained by lines around our neck holding them on or bulky, air-injected frames we couldn't wear away from sport activities without looking like an equipment manager. After long hours of design and testing, we launched the Sport and Lifestyle frames to the public on the first day of Spring (March 22nd) of 2016.
IN 2016 WE MADE NEW STYLES
Our first line of Rheos Floating Sunglasses sold out in less than 60 days and we heard again and again we needed more style options. So we called our favorite designers and got to work. In 2016, we welcomed to the party to some of our best sellers and now favorite styles Anhingas, Eddies, and Palmettos.
IN 2017 WE MADE SHARPER LENSES
Since the initial launch, we have talked to hundreds (or maybe thousands?) of professionals and amateurs and everyday enthusiasts across all watersports from surfing and stand-up paddle boarding to fishing and kayaking. We listened to what was most important in a lens, and we made sure ours were the best they could find including all the bells and whistles of UV400, Premium Polarization, Hydrophobic and Olephobic coatings as well as scratch resistant layers to make lenses stand the test of time.
IN 2018 WE REBUILT FROM THE BOTTOM UP
We built this company on the back of three core values: Akham's Razor: The simplest answer is usually the best answer. Kaizen: Continuous improvement in all functions of the business, ourselves and the world around us. Rheos: As the greek word for river current, this value represents the idea of carving your own path just as river water carves its way through the earth.
Now, in our most recent act of constant improvement we rebuilt our frames from the ground up with enhanced materials, inset logos and improved nosepads.
