White Mountain National Forest: Magnificent Beauty

November 24, 2016

It's hard to capture the full beauty of White Mountain National Forest. The National Forest Service tried it's best with the 1950s style cursive lettering stating plainly "Scenic Area." It's hard to put the deciduous trees, hidden trails and mountain overlooks into words. It's best if to see this New Hampshire gem for yourself.

What's the must do and see here?

Hiking the Crawford trail to Mt. Washington is a must. The Crawford trail has truly unforgettable and picturesque views that continue to amaze me.

What makes this a special place to connect with nature?

This is where I feel as if I really push myself in both my photography and backpacking abilities. Each time I visit, I push myself harder, and I love the results that come out of each trip.

Favorite memory here?

My favorite memory here has to be when my good friend Adam Colello and I went to Glenn Ellis Falls. We had been planning on going to see the falls for a while after seeing other pictures of it on social media. After planning it out, the drive up was filled with such anticipation and excitement. We finally got to the trail and Adam was ahead of me hiking down. As soon as Adam turned the corner and witnessed the falls in real life he yelled out, "Oh my God!" The look on his face was truly priceless and unforgettable. Moments like that, seeing something so amazing with some of your closest friends is what I live for and is why I do what I do.

What superlative would you give White Mountain National Forest?

Although I'm a full-time student, it doesn't discourage me from getting out and exploring some of the most gorgeous areas that the northeast has to offer. I'm constantly pushing to better his photography work as well as explore as much as he can. I've gone on quite a few trips with my latest and greatest being a trip up to, White Mountain National Forest. Nothing makes me happier than having a camera in hand and my best friends by my side to experience every spectacular moment life has to offer. White Moutain National Forrest mostly sits in New Hampshire, but shares a little of the love with Maine. There are plenty of trails for day hikes or if you're looking to get off the beaten path why not do some multi day bushwaking. Climb Mt. Isolation to get a serious dose of nature therapy.

The fishing in White Mountain National Forrest is best experienced in the summer months. It's know for it's trout with plenty of rivers to chose form that get you deep into the trees. Check out the Pemigewasset, bring your best flies and look forward to a great day of fishing!
